A water-borne polyurethane-acrylate emulsion (WPUA) prepolymer was synthesized by using polycaprolactone diol (PCL), toluene diisocyanate (TDI), 2,2-bis (hydroxymethyl) butyric acid (DMBA), 1,4-butanediol (BDO) and methyl methacrylate (MMA) as main materials. After the coupling modified nano-SiO2 was grafted with graphene oxide, it was polymerized with polyurethane prepolymer in situ. The amine-free waterborne polyurethane-acrylate composite emulsion (SiO2-NH2-GO/WPUA) modified by functionalized graphene was prepared by self-emulsification. The amount of functionalized graphene was discussed, and its composite emulsion and film were tested and characterized. Compared with waterborne polyurethane-acrylate (WPUA), SiO2-NH2-GO/WPUA has better temperature resistance and film properties. When the mass fraction of SiO2- NH2-GO is 0.75%, compared with unmodified emulsion film, the thermal decomposition temperature of the composite film increased by 14.51oC; The tensile strength increased to 81.28 MPa; the adhesive prepared by the composite emulsion has a T-peel strength of 15.4 N in aluminum foil/PVC film. The indexes such as the easy oxide meet the standard of pharmaceutical packaging containers, indicating that the waterborne polyurethane adhesive is suitable for pharmaceutical packaging.
